Working on the floor, without the added weight of the torso on the legs and with the support of the floor and wall, the correct actions and workings of the limbs can be directed and refined.
The floor barre strengthens and stretches the limbs and torso, uniquely activating correct muscular use. Floor barre work is vital for the understanding of the basics of dance technique.
The floor barre articulates and extends the range of rotational movement in the joints and facilitates greater range of motion, isolating the correct use of muscular effort necessary for a supported action and for sustaining correct alignment.
Helpful for injury prevention and recovery.
Floor Barre classes are open to anybody, no ballet or dance experience necessary.
