Songs for Drella

A work by Timothy Gordon
John Cale and Lou Reed collaborated on what they describe as a ‘fictitious musical project’ about Andy Warhol, the American pop artist who created the legendary ‘factory’ and surrounding culture in New York City. Reed and Cale became involved with Warhol through their band The Velvet Underground which Warhol picked up and backed. In this song cycle, we are taken on a voyage discovering the engagement that these seminal artists had with each other in different points of Warhol's life.
